Much Needed Vacation

I'm in Hawaii.  Need I say more?

So I got back from Nepal 2 1/2 months ago and immediately started working.  At first the job seemed like a total answer to prayer, but since then, I have definitely wondered if it actually was.  The job is exhausting, and not at all rewarding.

One weekend during Spring Break, my friend's dad approached me and asked me if I'd like to go to Hawaii with their family.  With a free ticket, how could I say no?  And as it turns out, they have paid for absolutely everything this whole trip.  In fact, the only thing I have paid for on this trip cost me 52 cents (I'm a good shopper).

I have never felt like I needed a vacation more.  And I am really enjoying this.  Really, really enjoying it.  Just today I saw about 50 dolphins, and swam with turtles, a small ray, and countless fish.  In fact, we snorkeled off the back wall of Molokini, one of the top ten dive spots in the world and home to about 250 species of fish.  I have never seen bluer water in my life.  It was amazing.

Not only has this vacation been relaxing and beautiful, but I have gotten to spend a whole 10 days with my childhood best friend, whom I rarely see anymore.  It has been wonderful.

After this, I have 2 more weeks left of work and then 2 weeks to prepare myself to move to Loma Linda.  I never thought I'd be so excited to move there, but I am very, very happy to start this new part of my life.

Life is good.

Some days were blustery and cold.
Some days were historical.  Pearl Harbor.
Some days were mildly entertaining.
Some days were perfect.

  1. "Some days were historical." I laughed. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to. Loma Linda is stealing my friend Justin Jones too.
