Secrets, the good kind.

Some secrets are hard to keep.  Actually, all secrets are hard to keep, but especially the good secrets.  The ones that make you jump up and down for joy, the ones that keep you smiling for hours, those secrets are the hardest to keep.

On Monday, Jonny, Kaitlynn, Alexis, Grant and I were going to go to Prospect Park for a concert in their outdoor amphitheater.  Alexis and I had packed a small picnic supper of flatbread with humus and veggies.  Alexis and Grant were to pick up Kaitlynn and meet Jonny and me at my house (since Jonny and I are neighbors now).

That's what Kaitlynn thought was happening.  But when Alexis and Kaitlynn walked through my garage to "help me carry out the food for the picnic,"  Alexis instead opened the door to my back porch, where Jonny nervously waited with his guitar.  Lights, candles, flowers everywhere... (Jonny!)... Kaitlynn melted.

I snuck out the other door as Alexis literally pushed Kaitlynn outside and Jonny began to sing.  Part way through the song, Kaitlynn says, "This is such a nice date!"  Not until Jonny gets to the chorus where he asks her to marry him does she realize what is happening.

Alexis and I go to Kaitlynn's apartment and load it up with even more flowers and wedding planning magazines and more.  As much as we wanted to spy on them, we went to Alexis's to watch some Olympics.

I didn't even get engaged and I can't keep from smiling.

Alexis and I wanted to have our own date night before the event :)
