Isaiah 40:27-31

Why do you complain, (Jenny)?
    Why do you say, (Jenny),
“My way is hidden from the Lord;
    my cause is disregarded by my God”?
Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

This morning when I read this text it was different. I think every time I've read this previously, it was to find comfort in being tired.  To find comfort when I needed strength.

This morning when my Bible fell open to Isaiah 40, the part that stood out to me was:

Why do you complain? Have you not heard? The Lord is the Creator of the ends of the earth.
And his understanding no one can fathom.

It was the only part of those verses that wasn't already highlighted in green. And it stood out to me because last week I literally complained to God, "Well, it's nice to see you're working in other people's lives."

How ridiculous of me. God clearly has better timing and better judgment than me, and someday I hope to understand even the beginning of that.
