When I finally pulled myself up into the attic (it's kind of a major ordeal), I shone my flashlight around to see if there were any poles amidst the skis. I could see one xc ski pole, but that's not what I was after. I pawed around in the pile of skis until I found one pole. It was pretty sweet, but too tall for me, and there was only one. I had to laugh out loud at my extreme forgetfulness - of course there's only one, my dad only uses one pole! hah
I almost felt as if my trip to the attic was pointless, but I stood there glancing around to see if there was anything else of interest up in the attic. I was about to step down out of the attic, when I spotted a brown pair of skis at the bottom of the stack. What are those?? Old, wooden cross country skis!! The kind one might hang on a wall! Yeah!
I climbed out of the attic just as my dad drove into the garage. "Did you know we had wooden cross country skis up there?" "Oh yeah, I forgot those were up there! I used to ski on those." I told him that when I have a house, I am definitely taking those skis and hanging them on a wall. They are awesome!
I ran around the house letting everybody know that I had claim to those skis as soon as I get a house. My brother looked at me like I was absolutely crazy and said, "You know, I really could care less." I don't understand, but, I guess he didn't see them......and, all the better for me I suppose!
My dad and I talked about the skis up there and he asked if his old downhill skis were up there. "Yeah. Those bindings are something else!" He says, "What? Those bindings are great! I got them for free! Some guy I met up on the hill just gave 'em to me!"
Ah, yes, free things are always better. And these free xc skis are gonna look awesome in my house someday!

ha! shone... classic. also, i'm sure your brother meant to say that he could not care less
