Dinner time. Dread. Cafeteria food.
On the menu: Mac and nacho cheese, as Zach Taylor would call it.
Other options: plain white rice, bagels and whipped cream (why they put out whipped cream instead of cream cheese, I do not know), wilted salad, mushy apples, and a questionable wrap.
So I decide to make toast...with the intent of eating peanut butter and bananas. And if they don't have bananas, I'll eat peanut butter and applesauce. I finish putting peanut butter on my toast, only to find there are neither bananas nor applesauce.
So I have peanut butter toast. Great. Unless I want my mouth stuck shut, this needs jam. I don't even care for PB and J. But I did find some clumpy jelly. Yum Yum.
I like food, but I don't like the cafe. Now I'm done complaining.
On a happier note, I just rode bikes with Emily Wilkens for an hour. And she is awesome! Actually, awesome is probably an understatement. She has so much life, and it just floods out of her...she is so fun to be around. Thanks for keeping me company Em!

Jenny! That cafeteria experience sounds sub-optimal. Really sorry bout that. BUT you are one LUCKY girl because going on bike rides with Emily Wilkens is one of the BEST things ever. Believe me, I've experienced it. You guys are lucky to have each other. Wish I was there. But really, I wish I was there.
ReplyDeleteYou know who has an awesome cafeteria? Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was amazing. In other ironic news, I had peanut butter and applesauce on toast for breakfast. In other other news, I think I need to purchase I bicycle.
ReplyDeleteHillary and I have that almost everyday!!
ReplyDeleteIt is the closest to American food we get :)
